Connecting a Door System

Connecting your door system with GuestGoodie allows your guests to conveniently open doors directly from the app. Once connected, the doors from your system are automatically synchronized with GuestGoodie and can be made available to your guests in various places. This eliminates the need for physical key cards and offers your guests a modern, contactless experience.

How the Integration Works

When you connect your door system with GuestGoodie:

  • Automatic Door Synchronization: All doors from your door system are imported into GuestGoodie
  • Intelligent Mapping: Doors are automatically linked to rooms in GuestGoodie based on room numbers
  • Flexible Availability: You decide where guests have access to which doors

Important: Automatic mapping is done via room numbers. If a door cannot be mapped automatically, you have the option to assign it manually.

Making Doors Available to Guests

After a successful connection, you can make doors available to your guests in three different places:

1. With Bookable Goodies

Add doors to bookable goodies (e.g., spa area, fitness room, conference room). When a guest books the goodie and the booking is confirmed, they automatically receive access to the associated door for the booked time.

How to add a door to a goodie:

  1. Create or edit a bookable goodie (see: Managing Goodies)
  2. In the goodie dialog, you'll find the "Doors" section
  3. Select the appropriate doors from your door system integration
  4. Save the goodie

Example: A guest books a massage at the spa. After confirmation, they can open the spa door during the booked time.

2. With Spaces (Rooms)

Link room doors to the corresponding rooms. Guests who are checked into a room automatically receive access to the room door for the duration of their stay.

How to add a door to a space:

  1. Go to Rooms management (see: Managing Rooms)
  2. Edit the desired room
  3. In the room dialog, you'll find the "Doors" section
  4. Select the associated room door
  5. Save the room

Note: Thanks to intelligent mapping, most room doors are already automatically linked correctly.

3. In the GuestArea

The GuestArea is the guest's personal area in the app, where they are greeted, see their calendar, and manage their bookings. Here you can add a list of doors that the guest can open at any time – ideal for common areas like the main entrance, parking garage, or wellness area.

How to add doors to the GuestArea:

  1. Open the GuestArea management
  2. In the "Actions" section, you can add various elements
  3. Select "Add Door"
  4. Choose the doors from your integration that should be accessible to all guests
  5. Save the settings

Example: You add the main entrance door and the parking garage door to the GuestArea. All checked-in guests can open these doors throughout their entire stay.


After Connection

Once your door system is successfully connected:

  • Automatic Synchronization: Doors are immediately synchronized and mapped
  • Contactless Access: Guests can open doors directly from the app
  • Time-based Permissions: Access is automatically activated and deactivated for the respective time periods
  • No Physical Keys: Modern, secure alternative to key cards

You can now focus on providing your guests with a seamless check-in experience while GuestGoodie automatically manages door access.
